Isabella is my first grandchild.  She was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. In this picture she's four months old. It took awhile, but she now eats well with the Haberman and has gotten chubby!  No surgeries yet. She's now 6 months old and a JOY!!! She has the biggest smile and laugh!  Mom and Dad have applied to Shriners for a cleft team. We're new to cleftAdvocate; thanks for the warm welcome and for sharing of yourselves!

In addition to being born with a cleft (which we learned about at a 19-wk. ultrasound), Ivy arrived on time but teeny-tiny (4.5 lbs), so she had a rocky start. Fortunately, she also came equipped with a huge personality, strong will, joyful disposition, and loads of charisma. She weathered her first two surgeries (lip repair at three months and palate repair at seven months) like a trooper (with a large dash of drama queen).

Iris had her lip repair on February 5, 2004 and palate repair on September 30, 2004. She will be having surgery again in spring time to close the holes that opened after the palate repair.
