Patrick, DOB 01/2002, UCLP
Patrick was born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate in January 2002. His first surgery and story was told on The Learning Channel (A Personal Story - Patrick's Repair). Thanks to Dr. Maull and Dr. Baker of Fairfax INOVA Hosp in Fairfax, VA and the new NAM (nasoalveolar molding) device, Patrick has had fewer surgeries and a better outcome.

Patrick is our first child. We found out about his cleft soft palate after he was born. He had surgery at Texas Childrens' Hospital in Houston to repair the cleft and to place ear tubes in June 2004. The ear tubes were replaced in March 2005. Patrick is a loving, kind, smart, and funny kid! We are so blessed to have him in our lives and we hope to make him a big brother very soon!
